Welcome to ECApedia!
ECApedia aims to bring together the knowledge helpful in multiple quality assurance issues. The first two modules concern the training of quality assurance experts and the joint programmes. The ECApedia is still being developed therefore every contribution is very welcomed.
About ECA
The European Consortium for Accreditation aims for the mutual recognition of accreditation and quality assurance decisions. Mutual recognition contributes to the recognition of qualifications in higher education and prevents the necessity of multiple accreditations for joint programmes and institutions operating across borders.
ECA is a project in itself. But in order to facilitate its cooperation and to contribute to achieving its aims ECA is continuosly carrying out projects within the fields of quality assurance and recognition of qualifications. ECA is currently carrying out two project: the JOQAR and the E-TRAIN project. Another ongoing project is Qrossroads.
European Experts Training Portal
European Experts Training Portal is the platform for electronic presentation of materials and is intended to be one stop shop for experts looking for additional practical information about quality assurance procedures and methodologies.
This portal has been developed within the E-TRAIN project. The overall aim of E-TRAIN project is to facilitate the sharing of trained, knowledgeable, and internationally experienced experts who will be better equipped to participate in QA procedures, to the benefit of higher education institution institutions under review.

Joint Programmes Portal
Joint Programmes Portal will function as a point of reference for coordinators of joint programmes, quality assurance agencies and recognition authorities.
This portal is being developed within the JOQAR project. The overall purpose of the project is to ensure that Erasmus Mundus programmes (and joint programmes in general) are facilitated in two specific areas: accreditation and recognition. The project partnership consequently includes quality assurance/accreditation agencies (QA/A agencies) and recognition bodies (ENIC-NARICs).
