The workshop will be hosted by the Polish State Accreditation Committee (PKA), the Polish member of ECA, and the Polish ENIC-NARIC.

The Polish State Accreditation Committee (PKA)

PKA is the only statutory body in Poland entrusted with the responsibility of evaluating the quality of higher education. Its opinions and resolutions have a legally binding effect.

PKA presents the minister responsible for higher education opinions and proposals concerning:

• Quality assessment of education in a given field of study, including teacher training
• The compliance with the requirements for the provision of degree programmes as laid down in the legislation
• The establishment of a higher education institution
• An authorization for a higher education institution to provide degree programmes in a given field of study and at a given level of study, within a macro-field of study or as interdisciplinary programmes
• An extension of a permit for the establishment of a higher education institution
• The establishment of a teaching centre in another location by higher education institution
• The establishment of a higher education institution based on the territory of the Republic of Poland by a foreign higher education institution

Department of International Programmes and Recognition of Diplomas ENIC-NARIC Poland

ENIC-NARIC Poland is a national information centre on the recognition of foreign credentials for both academic and professional purposes. Operating within the Department of International Programmes and Recognition of Diplomas of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, ENIC-NARIC Poland performs the following tasks:

• gives opinion and information on documents of higher education obtained abroad
• provides information on the recognition procedures of foreign education in Poland
• assists those who wish to seek recognition of Polish educational credentials abroad
• provides general information on the recognition professional qualifications
